Aurecon is currently seeking the services of a Sanitation Specialist to facilitate the development of a National Plan for Rural Sanitation Improvement (Roadmap) towards 2030. The specialist will work primarily with the Environmental Health Department (EHD) within Ministry of Health for 48 days over 12 months. Deliverables will include the roadmap plan and associated outputs on process, socialisation and required improvements in related IMS systems.

BESIK is funded by the Government of Australia (GoA) to provide assistance to the Government of Timor- Leste (GoTL) for the development of rural water supply, sanitation and hygiene services. The current phase commenced in September 2012 as an eight year program funded for an initial four years. BESIK supports Government of Timor-Leste to meet planned end-of-program rural water service and sanitation outcomes at national, district, sub-district and household levels. It works most closely with directorates within two ministries, Ministry of Public Works and Ministry of Health.

Candidates should have:
- Experience across relevant disciplines supporting sanitation strategy and policy scale up;
- Leadership and facilitation experience in sanitation programs in a complex development environment
- Excellent communications skills (including across cultures);
- Sensitivity to gender and social inclusion.
Candidates with specific understanding of Timor Leste development context and with a proven background of working with Australian Government programs are strongly encouraged to apply.
Conditions for employment, including rates and allowances, will be as per the Australian Government Adviser Remuneration Framework and cover fees and support costs. This role is considered as C2-3 level.
