The Entraide Protestante Suisse (EPER) supports projects in more than 30 countries, located on four different continents, to combat poverty and injustice. HEKS also provides worldwide humanitarian aid to victims of natural disasters and armed conflicts. It also supports the diaconal work of churches in Eastern Europe and the Middle East. In Switzerland, HEKS responds to the needs of refugees and socially disadvantaged people, and is committed to their rights. Through its development and social policy work in areas such as climate justice, access to land and food, migration and integration, HEKS contributes to systemic change, by Switzerland and abroad.

We are looking for for our development cooperation office in Goma from June 1, 2022.

Your main responsibilities:

As a program officer, you lead and manage the coordination of all stabilization and development project activities in the country office.

You track implementation progress, manage project activities and resource allocation to achieve project goals.

Program Management

  • You coordinate the stabilization and development interventions of the Entraide Protestante Suisse.
  • You control and evaluate the progress of the implementation of projects, identify challenges, find solutions.
  • You organize team planning and follow-up/evaluation meetings

Finance

  • You ensure appropriate financial monitoring of projects, in collaboration with the administrative and financial manager.
  • You provide appropriate inputs to the financial planning cycle.

Acquisition

  • Under the leadership and responsibility of the Country Director, you develop and maintain a high level of understanding of national donor priorities, strategies and plans.
  • You explore opportunities for partnerships and funding.

Your strengths and skills:

  • Relevant university degree at Master's and/or MBA level in the field of Rural Development, Rural Economy or other related fields.
  • At least 4 years of professional experience in the international development/cooperation sector.
  • Proven experience in program management, or monitoring and evaluation.
  • Excellent analytical and conceptual skills
  • Excellent command of French and English, both written and spoken.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong computer skills
  • Good knowledge of the development cooperation sector in the country.
  • Available for national and international travel
  • Professional, cooperative, effective and efficient attitude

  • Contract duration: 6 to 12 months
