Ethiopia: Gender and Climate Change Resilience: E-Volunteer

Gender and climate change intersectionality is becoming an increasingly relevant topic in the development arena. Historically, it has been proven that climate change affects genders differently and this reality must be considered and addressed in project development. Cuso International Jamaica is interested in developing this sector in our programming as it becomes more relevant to development players. In addition, we have historically focused on gender equality and are interested in developing this in the climate space as well to ensure women’s issues are represented and addressed.

The first phase of the project will involve the collection of data and research around what has been and is currently being done by strategic partners and where Jamaica and the region is as it relates to programming. This research will help to pave the way for developing our approach and work. Researchers will work on the topic of gender equality in climate change resilience - exploring what has been done, current plans and initiatives, gaps and areas of improvement and possible interventions. They will conduct desk research and virtual interviews with key partners in the sector and complete a research report on their findings.
