ICEM – International Centre for Environmental Management is an award-winning independent technical service centre that assists government, private sector and communities to define and implement policies for sustainable development. Established in 1999 in Australia, ICEM (http://icem.com.au/) has its regional headquarters in Hanoi and is staffed by full-time international and national technical and administrative personnel.
ICEM works in Asia - especially the Mekong countries and focuses on climate change, water resources management, energy efficiency, environmental assessment, and environmental and social economics and biodiversity conservation. ICEM seeks to integrate environmental concerns with development through spatial planning, socio-economic analysis and environmental assessment tools.
ICEM is now seeking to employ two international staff on two-year renewable contracts. Applicants should have academic qualifications in engineering or science and experience in any of the following fields:
- Climate change
- Water resources management
- Environmental assessment
- Environmental and ecological economics
- Integrated natural resource management
- Biodiversity conservation
- Energy efficiency
- GIS, modeling and spatial analysis
Interested professionals should have a master’s degree or doctorate and at least five years relevant working experience. Applicants should be fluent in English (preferably native speakers) with excellent writing and presentation skills and advanced computer software skills working with MS office. One position is Hanoi-based, and the other Yangon-based, following initial orientation in Hanoi.
