The International Committee for the Development of Peoples (CISP), through its cooperation with many local actors, both governmental and private, has been implementing humanitarian aid, rehabilitation and development projects in over 30 countries: Africa, Latin America, the Middle East, Asia, and Eastern Europe. In the member countries of the European Union our organization fosters initiatives centered on cultural politics, promotion of international solidarity and enhancement of the role of diasporas in the development of their countries. Project Manager for the CISP component of the project “Promoting Sustainable Management of Water Services and Resources in Countries Affected by the Syrian Crisis”, funded by the MADAD Trust Fund (EC) and implemented by a Consortium of INGos

Duration: 12 months renewable

Tentative starting date: July 2018

Functions:

  • Planning, coordination, management, supervision and monitoring of project activities
  • Supervision of procurement and tendering procedures for works, and other goods and services;
  • Supervision of accountancy and administration
  • Maintaining contacts with relevant local stakeholders, institutions, associations, cluster groups, donors, local authorities and International NGOs and agencies;
  • Taking care of any needed operational agreement with local authorities involved, as well as any needed authorization
  • Drawing project documents, assessment reports, activity plans, interim / final reports, financial reports, etc.
  • Management of financial and logistic resources of the project;
  • Selection, recruitment, management and supervision of local staff;
  • Reporting to the CISP Country Representative to Lebanon

HOW TO APPLY:

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated experience and ability in cooperation projects’ management, preferably in projects with component of civil works, training activities, community based and sensitization activities, etc. Knowledge and experience in emergency and relief, humanitarian aid, assistance to refugees, is a preferential asset
  • Excellent understanding of & experience /skills in project operational and financial management, planning, administration and reporting
  • Experience / skills in procurement procedures and tendering.
  • Experience /skills in organization of training and community based activities
  • Excellent communication capabilities and ability in reports’ writing
  • Background, skills and technical experience in fields related to WASH are important assets
  • Background and knowledge of EC and UN (UNICEF, UNHCR, OCHA) Rules and Regulations (management systems, administrative & procurement procedures, tendering, etc.) is a preferential asset
  • Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of Arabic is an asset
  • Computer literacy
  • Driving License
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, stressful environment. Flexibility, availability to perform other duties. Availability to work in security volatile context
  • Experience in conflict/post-conflict contexts, preferably with experience in supporting emergency response.
  • Past working experience in Lebanon is an asset
