The Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) is a non-governmental, humanitarian organization with over 75 years of experience in helping to create a safer and more dignified life for refugees and internally displaced people. In the Middle East, NRC has over 3,000 staff dedicated to assisting people affected by conflict in Jordan, Syria, Libya, Lebanon, Iraq, and Palestine. Its humanitarian interventions are based upon its programming expertise in the Core Competencies (CCs) of Shelter, Education, Water and Sanitation Hygiene, Livelihoods and Food Security, and Information Counselling and Legal Assistance (ICLA) to aid people affected by conflict.  The Syrian Crisis is in its twelfth year and humanitarian and protection needs continue to grow inside Syria as a result of the ongoing complex emergency situation in which displacement is both massive and widespread.

NRC’s programming in Syria has a strong humanitarian, protection and resilience focus that looks to meet vital needs through sustainable solutions to increase early recovery outcomes through integrated Programme responses.
