Action Against Hunger is a global humanitarian organization which originated in France and is committed to ending world hunger. The organization helps malnourished children and provides communities with access to safe water and sustainable solutions to hunger.
The FSL Coordinator will be responsible for the revision and implementation of the FSL and nutrition component of the Mission Strategy according to the Country priorities, as defined in the Lebanon Crisis Response Plan and Action against Hunger priorities in the Food Security and Livelihoods (FSL) and Nutrition sector. Furthermore, the FSL Coordinator will design the programs along with the Operation Department, support field implementation, monitoring, and reporting on current and future organization Food Security, Livelihoods and Nutrition projects in Lebanon. Lastly, the FSL Coordinator will continue to ensure Action against Hunger leadership on the FS and LH sectors in the country.
Key activities in your role will include
In a context of both emergency and early recovery towards development you will be responsible for:
- Understanding and analyzing the Food security, Livelihoods and nutrition sector in Lebanon and define priorities of intervention according to the Countries’ strategic priorities, the humanitarian community sector guidance and Action Against Hunger principles of action Project implementation, follow-up and monitoring, reporting and evaluations.
- Ensure the active participation of Action against Hunger in national sectoral coordination and technical/Donors forums and develop sectoral partnerships
- Ensure quality and equity control, follow up and monitoring
- Food Security and Livelihoods team management and Capacity Building
Specific information about the position:
- Cover of basic needs for Syrian refuges and vulnerable host community
- Strengthen resilience both at Household and community level
- Lebanon mission encourage new approaches and innovative solutions and the implementation of pilot’s project.
- FSL programs in Lebanon: Cash Based Intervention, Agriculture, Livelihoods and Nutrition sensitive programming
- Mission of 130 employees, 3 bases.
Do you meet the profile required criteria?
- Bachelor’s and/or Master’s Degree in Food Security or Related Field, preferably with academic background in Humanitarian Action
- Minimum At least 5 years field humanitarian experience including 2 years on a similar position
- Livelihoods program design and implementation, preferably in the Middle East. Knowledge of Project Cycle Management is a must. Proven ability in translating analysis and evaluation into operational planning and strategic decision-making
- Excellent team management skills, good listener, high communication skills
- English (compulsory working language, spoken, read and written); Arabic (not compulsory)
