While the fight against hunger had previously been an element of more general humanitarian action (the fight against poverty, promoting better health, etc.) they founded an organisation that was exclusively dedicated to ending hunger. Action against Hunger is now recognised as one of the leading organisations in the fight against hunger worldwide.
Country: KURDISTAN (Region of Iraq) - Erbil
Length of contract: 12 months, starting as soon as possible
The position: Under the supervision of the Country Director, you will have to design ACF Water, Sanitation & Hygiene (WASH) country strategy and contribute to its implementation in order to maximise ACF impact.
More precisely, your main responsibilities will be:
Design ACF WASH Country Strategy
- Design the country strategy according to the humanitarian context
- Promote technical innovation
Coordinate the WASH strategy’s implementation
- Write initial and final proposals
- Monitor the programs implementation
Contribute to ACF technical expertise
- Capitalize technical aspects at mission’s level
- Monitor the implementation of new techniques
Manage the team
- Supervise and manage for all direct reports
- Elaborate capacity building of direct reports and program managers
The applicant:
Master’s Degree in Water & Sanitation and Environmental Studies, you have a significant experience at least 2 years minimum in Humanitarian WASH activities.
Recognized for your experience of management in an emergency context, you have the ability to deal with donors / partners and have excellent skills in writing proposals and reporting.
High flexibility and mobility in Kurdistan Region. Fluent in English is required.
Status:
- Gross monthly salary ranging from €1805 to €2305 depending on relevant experience
- Food and hygiene expenses, per diem, transportation costs, individual accommodation, medical insurance
- 25 days of annual paid leaves and 20 days of rest and recuperation (R&R) per year
- Pre departure training, at the HQ in Paris (1 to 2 weeks)
