Position: Three-quarter-time Assistant Professor of Community and International Development; two-year faculty position.
Qualifications: Ph.D. preferred (ABD with field experience seriously considered); three to six years of field experience; teaching and training experience.
Responsibilities: Teach both graduate and undergraduate courses in community and international development and political economy. Faculty member will work closely with a team to provide curriculum planning and recruitment for the undergraduate Peacebuilding and Development major, to support undergraduate and graduate students through advising and supervision of field work/practica, and participate in the work of the undergraduate Department of Applied Social Sciences. Familiarity with Humanitarian Action and Peacebuilding theory and practice desired. Engagement in ongoing scholarly activity and departmental and university service expected. Compensation: Nine-month contract for a three-quarter time position (18 Semester Hours, including teaching and administration) for two years. Salary determined by education and experience. Interim position with possibility to convert to full-time tenure-track.
Appointment Date: Position begins mid-August 2015. EMU reserves the right to fill the position at any time or keep the position open.
