Global Witness is seeking an Executive Director to run the organisation and its pioneering investigations and campaigns.
Salary: Around £80,000 pa
Global Witness is an international organisation that investigates and campaigns to prevent natural resource-related conflict and corruption, and environmental and human rights abuses. We collect irrefutable evidence through our investigations and combine it with powerful advocacy to force change, often in the gritted teeth of vested interests.
This is a full-on, full-time role for an exceptional leader who, in conjunction with an excellent senior management team, can blend outstanding management of campaigns, finance, fundraising and communications to run an extraordinary and impactful organisation.
You will have experience of dealing both in high-level advocacy on an international stage, and in managing either an international NGO or a significant part of a large international NGO.
Areas of campaigns include: investigating multi-million dollar bribery schemes; tracking billions of dollars of payments from the mining and oil industries to some of the poorest and worst governed countries on Earth; exposing and preventing the trade in conflict minerals from Congo and elsewhere; dealing with military and business actors profiting from global conflict; finding and preventing the laundering of the proceeds of corruption; exposing and preventing land-grabbing; secret deals for land and forests; detecting and deterring illegal logging around the world, and exploring new and innovative ways to tackle climate change.

Please note that the deadline for applications has been extended until 5 January 2015.
