SRD is an international non-profit humanitarian organization dedicated to the reduction of suffering and working to provide humanitarian relief in Syria and in Jordan. SRD is seeking a MEAL Officer to support ongoing livelihood, wash, nutrition and community health programs in Southern Syria (Remote Management).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Compile consolidated annual plans for the SRD project.
  • Develop and maintain an effective monitoring and evaluation system for the SRD project that responds to information needs of a diverse range of stakeholders at relevant levels; and produce periodic SRD reports
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly programs progress updates.
  • Development and maintain a monitoring system that effectively links project budgets to planned activities and, using the system, produce a monthly update for decision making
  • Develop/adapt monitoring and reporting tools and frequency for the relevant levels and partner implementation monitoring.
  • Support Grants Officers and Project Manager to prepare and monitor monthly cash flow
  • Support Project Manager to review monthly budget monitors, determine corrective actions and monitor implementation of the corrective actions
  • Coordinate review meetings when needed.
  • Lead the procurement process, supervise consultants and research teams; undertaking capacity-building activities for communities, staff and other stakeholders with a view to improve monitoring and documentation of programs.
  • Document program successes, lessons and best practices based on demonstrated evidence from project monitoring, evaluation and research. Quarterly, produce at least one case study from the SRD project.
  • Coordinate project baselines, project performance target setting (based on baseline), midterm evaluations and end line evaluations
  • Generally, support program development by proactively participating in development of new donor proposals, and specifically designing the M/E plans and indicator framework.
  • Coordinate and facilitate sharing and dissemination of successes, lessons learnt and best practices both internally and externally.
  • Carry out any other reasonable tasks as assigned by the Project Manager from time-to-time.

 

Competencies

  • Fluency in English and Arabic is required.
  • He/She Jordanian or Syrian National
  • Excellent program planning, monitoring and evaluation, interpersonal and report writing skills
  • Proficient in the use of computer applications
  • Ability to work independently, take the initiative and take responsibility
  • Strong commitment in humanitarian principles
  • Organization and ability to manage priorities
  • Proactive approach to making proposals and identifying solutions
  • Ability to work and manage professionally and maturely
  • Ability to integrate into the local environment, taking account of its political, economic and historical characteristics

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • One to two years of professional experience in performingM&E duties

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • University Degree is required.
