Iraq: Food Assistance Project Manager

World Vision is currently seeking professionals to join our global humanitarian response in Kurdish Region Iraq (KRI) for Mosul, who are passionate about protecting lives, restoring dignity and renewing hope, especially among children affected by conflict.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement detailed food assistance program work-plans to achieve program targets. Ensure accountability mechanisms are place for community and stakeholder feedback on food assistance program activities. Plan funding requirements and submit clear, timely budgets and funding requests to Finance. Design food assistance program based on needs assessment findings and analysis targeting the most vulnerable in coordination with Programming Unit. Provide leadership for the food assistance team as well as being the key representative of WVDF on all issues related to food assistance programming. Develop project design, proposal writing, budgeting process, and engaging various support offices and donors during the negotiation process in coordination with Food Programming Advisor. Liaise and meet with donors and other food programming stakeholders for the purposes of networking, information sharing and nurturing partnerships.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • BA Degree /Masters in Business Administration, Social Science or in other related field.
  • Extensive exposure to food aid programs management (minimum 5 years) preferably with international experience.
  • Have an understanding of Cash Based Programming.
  • Adequate knowledge and experience in food aid programs and donors standards appropriate to the management of the food programs.
  • Knowledge of the Sphere standards, Code of Conduct for Red Cross/ Red crescent, Humanitarian Accountability Partnerships (HAPI) and other international humanitarian standards.
