Created in 1979, Action contre la Faim is a non-governmental organization that fights against hunger. Its charter of humanitarian principals- independence, neutrality, non-discrimination, free and direct access to victims, professionalism, transparency - has been part of its identity for more than 40 years. Its mission is to save lives by eliminating hunger through the prevention, detection and treatment of under-nutrition, particularly during and after emergency situations linked to conflicts or natural disasters. Responsibilities

Your main responsibilities are to implement high quality Food security and livelihood / Disaster Risk Reduction mechanism projects, in conformity with the country strategy and the standards set internationally, by ACF and by national policies; and more specifically :

  • To contribute to deliberations on strategy and the positioning of the FSL-DRR Department;
  • To identify needs and contribute to project elaboration,
  • To support field teams technically on FSL-DRR projects.
  • To contribute to the quality, accountability and impact measurement process of his/her projects
  • To participate in the coordination, representation and partnerships of ACF in his/her area of intervention
  • To contribute capitalization and technical development in his/her sector.

 

Requested Profile

  • You hold a master degree in agronomy, environmental sciences, biology or any other relevant discipline in Food, security & livehood and Emergency response Program for Natural and conflict disaster.
  • You have minimum 5 years experience in FSL sector in the field of humanitarian cooperation in challenging context
  • Humanitarian project cycle management, donor reporting rules and compliance do not have secret for you.
  • You demonstrate good knowledge of humanitarian aid and/or development and you are good at synthesising, analysing and have writing skills.
  • Partnership management and early recovery activities are part of your strengths.
  • You are an experienced manager, able to support and empower your team.
  • You are proactive, creative, autonomous and able to absorb important workload and work under pressure.
  • If you know ACF internal process it is a plus!
  • You are fluent in English.

Specific Conditions/Salary

  • 12 months fixed term contract under French legislation or Afghan legislation
