EcoPeace Middle East is a unique trilateral environmental organization. Our primary objective is the promotion of cooperative efforts to protect our shared environmental heritage. In so doing, we seek to advance both sustainable regional development and the creation of necessary conditions for lasting peace in our region.

Job Purpose: Responsible for leading the management of the projects and project teams in the region, including the initiation, planning, executing, controlling and the closing of the projects to achieve defined regional project outcomes.

Responsibilities include:

Strategy and Planning:

To advise and support Co- Directors on the development of agreed strategies and plans.

  • Achieving operational objectives by contributing information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews; preparing and completing action plans; resolving problems; implementing change
  • To provide support on Dual Key Planning Documents to the satisfaction Co- Directors
  • Responsible for preparation of (relevant sections of) Project Proposals, Project Initiation documents in close cooperation with regional development manager and regional financial manager.

Programmes :

To lead the process of initiating, developing, delivering, publicizing, monitoring and evaluating (in cooperation with the Meal regional team) and assessing risks of regional programmes.

  • Programme plans are agreed upon and approved by Co-directors.
  • Programme plans are delivered within budget, on time and to agreed quality standards as listed in the project
  • proposals and budgets.
  • Programme plans commissioned and decommissioned in line with organizational strategy.
  • Liaise with regional resource development manager to ensure that reports are presented to agreed standards and according to deadlines to comply with funder agreements and regulations.
  • Liase with Regional financial manager on meeting financial objectives by forecasting requirements; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.

Networks & Relationship building

To support project teams, develop and maintain active relationships and networks with stakeholders relevant to programmes.

Team-working and knowledge-sharing

To develop a project team with effective knowledge-sharing between the regional members and to design programme of learning and development for project managers and effective use of communication tools to develop regional & local working and knowledge sharing

Personal Experience and Qualities:

  • Degree in a relevant field in the area of environment, management or conflict resolution. A master degree is a plus.
  • Minimum 10 years of professional experience in projects management, donor agencies or civil society
  • organizations
  • Excellent organizational skills with demonstrated ability to work independently, handle a variety of
  • concurrent activities, rank priorities, organize work efficiently, and deliver assignments in a timely manner often under time constraints
  • Skill in document composition and report writing.
  • Familiarity with theory of knowledge and theory of change is a plus
  • Ability to plan and coordinate the most effective use of time, facilities, and resources to achieve successful project objectives.
  • Ability to keep track of project timelines, milestones and budget conformance.
  • Ability to assign duties and determine work exactness, neatness and policy conformation.
  • Skill in Identifying work procedures to prepare schedules and expedite workflow.
  • Fluently in English and Arabic (Spoken and written). Other languages is a plus.

Salary: Negotiable based on qualifications and experience
