On Monday, September 23, the Environmental Peacebuilding Association -- in partnership with UNEP, ELI, Columbia University, Duke University, UC Irvine, UNDP, and the SDG Academy -- launched the third running of its popular massive open online course (MOOC) on Environmental Security & Sustaining Peace.  This iteration is self-paced and will be open through for 9 months.

As you plan your courses for the Spring term, please consider how you might incorporate the MOOC on Environmental Security and Sustaining Peace into your course syllabi. The self-paced nature of our MOOC makes it easy to integrate into your class schedule. The videos, discussion group activities, and exercises all provide engaging ways to add different perspectives and stimulate discussion about the role of the environment in conflict and peace. Short quizzes at the end of every module, and a mid-term and final exam, evaluate students’ knowledge about key concepts and applications. Additionally, as part of the third MOOC cohort, your students will become part of a global community that is dedicated to using the environment as a platform for peacebuilding. The MOOC runs through June 2020, and registration is available here. Please do not hesitate to contact the course team at enviropeace@sdgacademy.org if you have any questions on how you can incorporate the MOOC into your class.
