ABOUT THE HIVE FUND

The Hive Fund for Climate and Gender Justice is a specialized intermediary that raises funds and makes grants to groups working to accelerate the transition from dirty to clean energy across the US South — a region with an outsized share of climate pollution and a legacy of environmental justice leadership that make it a critical arena for national and global progress. In partnership with more than 30 donors, a broad array of advisors, and 10 full-time staff, the Hive Fund provides multiyear, general support to more than 150 impactful yet underfunded grantee partners, primarily in Texas, Louisiana, Georgia, and the Carolinas — states contributing nearly a quarter of the nation’s climate pollution.

Since our first grants were made in 2020, grantee partners have achieved tremendous progress toward a transition to clean energy across the region. The next five years — the last half of this decisive decade — present an opportunity to build on the momentum we’ve collectively created to fundamentally transform our energy systems in ways that spread economic and environmental benefits to communities who have long borne the brunt of dirty energy industries’ pollution and corruption.

ABOUT THE POSITION

The Hive Fund is seeking an administrative and operations fellow to support our small but mighty team in achieving their programmatic goals over the next two years. This newly created role presents an exciting opportunity for an early- to mid-career candidate to learn about philanthropy from the inside. The fellow is also invited to participate in program meetings to learn about climate/racial/gender justice movements and grantee partners across the South. The ideal inaugural Admin and Ops Fellow is someone both passionate and skilled in playing a supportive role within a team, bringing a can-do spirit and commitment to rigor and excellence, as well as a sense of humor and collegiality.
