India is now the second largest importer of "conflict wood" from Myanmar, following China, according to a recent investigation by the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists (ICIJ). India has not banned the import of teak from Myanmar, which is being exported to the US and EU. This trade is detrimental to Myanmar's forest cover and provides support to the country's military regime.
