Myanmar: NGOs Urge National ‘Land Bank’ for Climate-Change Victims

Local environmental advocates have urged the government to set up a ‘land bank’ that would be used to relocate the growing number of people displaced by the effects of climate change. Nay Min Maung, programme officer of Advancing Life and Regenerating Motherland (ALARM), said every year thousands of people are affected by climate change and losing their lands due to rising tides or erosion.
