Job Purpose Summary:
Responsible for assessment, designing, and monitoring of WASH projects. Gathering of input, maintaining data, and following up and reporting progress of project activities in coordination with the field staff of the partner inside.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
- Assist the WASH officer in selection and designing water systems including source selection (ground water, surface water), abstraction, storage, treatment and distribution for new systems and/or the rehabilitation of old systems
- Assist the WASH officer in selection and designing the most appropriate form of sanitation system (to include toilets, showers, drainage) taking full account of local conditions, resources, customs and cultural norms.
- Ensure that issues of protection, gender, livelihoods, DRR and environmental impact, operation and maintenance and sustainability are factored into the facilities design.
- Check construction progress regularly and provide advice and support to the field Assistants and workers.
- Facilitate Water supply and water quality monitoring.
- Collect and systemize information on progress of each activity of a project being implemented, and input the information into database platform
- Provide assistance in monitoring and evaluation, collection of quantitative and qualitative data , interviews, surveys, data clarity and data delivery to the Monitoring and Evaluation officer
- Work closely and on a daily basis with WASH officer
- Provide day-to-day supports in monitoring and evaluation, data collection, interviews, surveys, data clarity and data delivery in coordination with WASH and MEAL officer.
- Provide day to day verifying data quality and ensure all data is input into database platform in an integrity manner
- Under the supervision of M&E officer, perform other tasks as required.
Knowledge and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering
- Experience in MS programs (Word, Excel & power point).
- Ability to move and transfer from place to place depends on needs.
- Good coordination and planning skill to work with the local structures, communities and other WaSH staffs.
- Experience in monitoring project activity, process and impact.
- Experience and knowledge of research, information management and analysis processes
- Good communication skills, able to build and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues.
- Fluency in Arabic, and medium level in English.
