We are looking for 2 Project Managers for our country operation in the Central African Republic. Are you our new SHELTER Project Manager or WASH Project Manager? The purpose of Project Managers positions is to implement delegated project activities.
The activities of NRC in CAR include five of NRC's core competencies (CC): ICLA, Education, Food Security, WASH and Shelter, across four prefectures. NRC also maintains a rapid, integrated emergency response capacity. In 2016, NRC aims to assist 110,000 persons affected by displacement in CAR.
The Project Managers report to a Programme Development Manager.

Job description
- Line management for project staff
- Adherence to NRC policies, guidance and procedures
- Contribute to the development of Country, Area and Shelter strategies, initiate and participate in the development of relevant CC projects
- Coordinate and manage Shelter or WASH project implementation (activities, budget and project documentation) in line with proposals, strategies and donor requirements
- Implement technical direction and ensure high technical quality of projects
- Provide regular progress reports to the Area Manager and the Shelter or WASH Specialist
- Ensure that projects target beneficiaries most in need of protection, explore and asses new and better ways to assist
- Develop and manage project budget and coordinate across CCs
- Ensure capacity building of project staff and transfer key skills
- Liaise and collaborate with relevant local authorities and other key stakeholders
- Promote the rights of IDPs/returnees in line with the advocacy strategy

Qualifications
- At least 3 years of field experience in WASH or Shelter projects, including in Emergencies
- Experience from working in complex and volatile contexts
- Technical WASH or Shelter expertise (experience in the other sector will be an asset)
- Experience in project management
- Experience in team management
- Experience in developing proposals and budgets
- Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities
- Knowledge about own leadership skills/profile
- Fluency in French and English, both written and verbal
- Experience from working in Africa
- Experience in strategic thinking and planning skills, be able to set priorities, prepare manageable work plans and to evaluate progress
