The IRC is seeking a Chief of Party (COP) for an anticipated USAID-funded Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) project in Ethiopia, which will focus on WASH interventions for enhanced resilience, including a natural resource management (NRM) component. The COP will lead a consortium of NGOs and other development partners in managing and implementing all aspects of the project, providing overall technical, administrative, operational, and logistical management of the project, with a focus on achieving the objectives/results defined in the terms of the contract.
The successful candidate will demonstrate her/his capacity to be a key decision-maker, an adept manager, a technical expert in one or more WASH areas, lead a diverse team of direct reports in Addis Ababa, and coordinate multiple implementing partner organizations to ensure operational and programmatic efficiency and success. The COP is responsible for developing a strong, coherent vision within, and initiating innovative strategies across, the project. The COP is expected to lead and/or participate in strategic, high-level policy forums and meetings and work with key stakeholders across government, non-government and international communities. The COP is responsible for the supervision of international consultants and local project staff.
