Senior Programme Officer - Corporate Engagement

We are looking for an exceptional candidate to join our London-based Economy and Peacebuilding team. You will be responsible for supporting Alert’s implementation of Conflict-Sensitive Business Practice with companies. Your role will be to support companies in understanding the challenges associated with operating in high-risk areas and advise them on how to operate in a responsible and conflict-sensitive way in these environments. You will conduct research and analysis to develop key advocacy messages which inform project development and implementation. The work will also include fundraising, advocacy and providing training.

With a postgraduate degree in a relevant subject, you will have at least 3 years’ experience in working in the area of economy and peacebuilding and have an understanding of the most relevant international frameworks, such as the Voluntary Principles on Security and Human Rights or the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights.

But most importantly, a proven ability to develop and sustain strategic relationships with key partners, very strong communication skills and the ability to reach out to various different stakeholders including companies, civil society organisations and public authorities are essential requirements for this position. With strong research and writing skills, coupled with strong analytical skills, you will enjoy working in a diverse team and contributing to the development and fulfilment of our team strategy. Fluency in French is an advantage.
