DRC has provided assistance to people in need in Myanmar since 2009. DRC currently implements a range of programmes serving displacement affected populations in Rakhine, Kachin, Shan and Kayah states.

In 2012, inter-communal violence in Rakhine forced 140,000 people to take refuge in IDP camps. DRC provides services for IDPs, host and villages through a multi-sector response that covers Camp Management, Shelter, NFIs, Child Protection, Livelihoods, Protection, GBV, and WASH in Sittwe, Pauktaw, Kyauktaw and Mrauk-U townships. Emergency response also occurs for floods, cyclones, earthquakes, and newly conflict-displaced populations.

DRC WASH provides water, sanitation and solid waste management services, as well as behavior change and hygiene kit distributions for 14,000 IDPs in two central Rakhine camps. DRC Rakhine has a high volume of construction activities across all its programmes and offices, and employs full engineering and construction teams that are overseen by the WASH and Infrastructure Manager, constructing shelter, community infrastructure, and a range of community and other centres for DRC Protection, Livelihoods and other teams.

To support and strengthen the DRC in Myanmar we are looking for highly motivated and capable candidates to fill the position of
