Welthungerhilfe (www.welthungerhilfe.de) is one of the large and respected private organisations in the field of development cooperation and humanitarian aid in Germany. It carries out projects in 39 countries and campaigns for fairer cooperation with developing countries. 

Expert Nutrition 

The position is to be filled as soon as possible, with an initial contract duration of one year. Employment location will be Greenville, Liberia (LR).

Your responsibilities

  • Field coordination
  • Manage Nutrition activities of the agriculture value chain project
  • Liaise with relevant stakeholders including the local government
  • Provide technical support to the ongoing projects for the preparation of nutrition program strategies, action plans and detailed implementation plans
  • Support the development of training materials
  • Organize Training of Trainers (ToT) nutrition trainings for project staff and relevant stakeholders
  • Review the current nutrition program contents and resource materials to provide technical recommendations for corrective measures
  • Identify, describe and analyse nutritional practices and effects of target communities
  • Develop appropriate implementation approach for nutrition improvements
  • Perform nutrition data collection, analysis and technical report production
  • Monitor and supervise target groups to ensure that training and other nutrition activities are taking place
  • Progress tracking and regular reporting
  • Coordinate with project stakeholders and consortium partners for project related activities
  • Participate in Nutrition Technical Working Groups and represent Welthungerhilfe towards stakeholders
  • Coordinate project activities and project team in the field office
  • Monitor project implementation using appropriate dietary diversity scores such as the HDDS, MDD-W in close cooperation with the Monitoring & Evaluation Team

Your profile

  • A university or technical degree in the field of Nutrition or a comparable specialized qualification suitable to the position
  • At least 3 years of progressive work experience in the NGO sector
  • Extensive trainer experience in the field of Nutrition
  • Experience in stakeholder coordination
  • Willingness to travel to remote locations
  • A very good command English, both spoken and written
