Action Contre la Faim is a global humanitarian organization which originated in France and is committed to ending world hunger. The organization helps malnourished children and provides communities with access to safe water and sustainable solutions to hunger.

General description of the position

You will guarantee the quality, relevance and scaling of FSL strategy and interventions at the mission, in conformity with ACF and international standards and national policies.

Main responsibilities

More precisely, you will have to:

  • Contribute to defining program strategy in terms of FSL as well as the strategy and positioning of the FSL technical department
  • Coordinate the identification of needs and the formulation of project proposals
  • Oversee the implementation of programs/projects and ensure that reports are submitted
  • Guarantee the quality and cost-effectiveness of projects
  • Ensure the active participation of ACF in national sectoral coordination and technical forums and develop sectoral partnerships
  • Team management
  • Promote capitalization, technical development and research within the FSL Department

Do you fit the requested profile?

You hold a master degree in Agronomy, Agriculture, International Development or other fields relevant with at least 2 years of field experience with NGO’s in food security activities.

Recognized for your experience of management in an emergency context, you have the ability to with donors / partners and have excellent skills in writing and documenting.

High flexibility and mobility in Kurdistan Region. Fluent in English is required.

Specific conditions / Salary

  • Remuneration and benefits :
  • Monthly gross salary 1 805 € to 2 305 € upon experience.
  • Per diem and living allowance: 487 € (cf eurocost) net, field paid.
  • + 12 % of monthly gross salary as country allowance. 
  • + 16% of monthly gross salary as reimbursement of retirement insurance for non-French citizen.
  • + Child allowance, limited to 5 children.

Transportation and accommodation:

  • Coverage of transportation costs to and in the mission.
  • Individual room in guesthouse covered
  • Medical coverage: 100% coverage of medical expenses + repatriation insurance.

Leaves and RnR:

  • 25 days of paid leaves per year.
  • + 20 RnR per year.   
  • + 215 € at each RnR period (averagely every 3 months – préciser si mission plus favorable).
  • Coverage of the transportation expenses to the RnR area of reference.

Training:

  • Free and unlimited access to the certifying e-learning platform Crossknowledge ©.
  • Technical trainings at HQ or regional level (averagely 1 per year). 
  • Intermission Workshop once a year.
  • Opportunity of coaching (DP) or mentorship.
  • Participation to external trainings costs upon eligibility of the request.

Work context

As of September 2018, ACF’s team is running operations of approximatively 6 million EUR coming from different institutional donors (AFD, OFDA, OCHA, WFP, RDPP and SDC) and internal ACF funds.

Since 2018 FSL programming portfolio is expanding focusing on different areas such as Cash programming, Job placement, business creation and agricultural projects. The objective for 2019 is to position ACF as one of the key partners for recovery/development livelihood donors such as GIZ, FAO,etc and expanding Livelihood programme in South and Central Iraq and increasing the agriculture intervention in areas like Ninewa (Sinjar).
