ZOA is an international NGO, which offers RELIEF to people who are affected by conflict or natural disasters. ZOA wants to contribute to a new perspective of HOPE in which people work together for a promising future in dignity and mutual trust. Together with the affected communities, ZOA works on the RECOVERY until they can provide to take care of their livelihoods. The work of ZOA is coordinated from Apeldoorn, the Netherlands. From Apeldoorn ZOA operates in fifteen countries in Africa, Middle East Region and Asia. ZOA works approximately with 1000 employees worldwide.
In Myanmar ZOA is registered as Consortium of Dutch NGOs (CDN). CDN-ZOA works with disaster and conflict affected people to improve their livelihoods and food security, their sanitation and hygiene situation and their access to clean water. CDN-ZOA also promotes peaceful solution for conflicts and supports the people to be prepared for disasters.
ZOA is looking for a Programme Manager for ZOA’s Programme in Rahkine State Myanmar
This is an exciting opportunity to lead an expanding team, delivering humanitarian relief and recovery projects for beneficiaries in a poor and marginalised region of Myanmar. Your challenge is to provide strategic oversight for a portfolio of projects in different areas and settings within Rakhine State. You will ensure that the projects are implemented according to target outputs and outcomes, in line with international standards (e.g. CHS), cluster guidelines and best practices (e.g. SPHERE). You will provide capacity development to CDN staff in Rakhine State in Myanmar. You will coordinate with external stakeholders including Government, the UN and INGOs to share information and collaborate on best practice and advocacy issues. You will explore new funding and project opportunities in the region.
Your main tasks and responsibilities
- Be part of the ZOA Myanmar Country Management Team;
- Leadership and management of team in Rakhine state;
- Development of programme strategy for the region, design projects and write proposals;
- Plan, implement and monitor projects;
- Oversee HR, Logistics and Finance in Programme area;
- Manage Security and safety for the area;
- Ensure Project Quality;
- Ensure compliance with donor reporting requirements.
Profile
Identity
- The candidate is expected to fully support the vision and mission of ZOA.
Knowledge
- Graduate level education, preferably masters level;
- Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in project delivery in developing country;
- Extensive Project Cycle Management;
- Monitoring, project evaluation and needs assessment methodologies;
- Data management and analysis;
- Familiar with Food Security and WASH programming.
Skills
- Excellent written and spoken English;
- Command of operational projects;
- Analytical;
- Planning and organising;
- Proposal writing;
- Data analysis;
- Development of people of different cultural background;
- Engagement in policy and advocacy issues.
