Since its first recorded COVID-19 cases on 31 March 2020, the government of Sierra Leone has instituted measures to prevent the transmission of the virus. But for rural or mining areas in the country, measures such as wearing masks, hand washing, physical distancing, lockdowns, and travel restrictions are very difficult to adhere to due to the nature of the work.
