Dec 18, 2018

The Environmental Peacebuilding Association is soliciting training proposals to enrich the experience at the First International Conference on Environmental Peacebuilding in Irvine, CA on October 23-25, 2019.

The conference will bring together more than 250 practitioners, researchers, students, and others interested in environment, conflict, and peace. On the morning of Wednesday, October 23 (before the conference formally opens), there will be an opportunity for people to improve their skills. Following are a few parameters for the training session:

  • There is no fee.  Training courses are open to all participants of the conference without additional charge.  And there is no budget to pay trainers.
  • Training courses should familiarize people with tools and toolkits, and/or build practical and research skills.
  • The size of a training course may vary, depending on the objectives of the course.
  • Sessions will be 3-4 hours in length.
  • Once the course offerings are set, conference participants will be encouraged to sign up for a training course.

If you have a training course, please consider offering a version of it at the conference! To propose a training course, please submit a proposal with a brief description of the objectives, methodology, faculty, and intended audience. Proposals should be submitted to conference@environmentalpeacebuilding.org.

If there are training courses that you would like to see, please send your recommendations to conference@environmentalpeacebuilding.org.

The deadline for proposals for training is February 15, 2019. The conference Scientific Committee will review proposals, and expects to send notification of its decision by February 28, 2019.
