Ukraine is a large and developed country with many facilities dangerous to the environment: nuclear power plants, hydroelectric plants, gas, oil, and ammonia pipelines, and factories that use hazardous substances. The war creates the danger of large-scale artificial accidents, including nuclear ones, the destruction of unique nature reserves, and the rise in food and energy prices. These consequences are felt by both Ukraine’s neighbors and distant vulnerable states.
