Meeting of Experts on the Formulation of Water Policies in the Context of the Post-2015 Development Agenda

This meeting of experts, organized by the Natural Resources and Infrastructure Division of the United Nations Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) will take place in Santiago, Chile, on 14 July 2015. The working language will be Spanish, without simultaneous translation. 

The main objective of the meeting will be to discuss new and recently reformed water legislation in the region. Other topics that will be addressed at the event are: 1) challenges to water security in the region; 2) water-related socio-environmental conflicts; and 3) Millennium Development Goals (MDG) and the Post-2015 Development Agenda. 
We expect the participation of experts from, among others, Argentina, Chile, Ecuador, Honduras, Nicaragua, Paraguay, Peru and Venezuela.

La Division de Recursos Naturales e Infraestructura de la CEPAL esta organizando una Reunion de Expertos sobre "La Formulacion de Politicas de Agua en el Contexto de la Agenda de Desarrollo Post-2015" (CEPAL, Santiago de Chile, 14 de julio de 2015). Los debates que se realizaran en este evento se enfocaran en los siguientes temas: 

- Las leyes de aguas adoptadas o reformadas en los paises de la region en la ultima decada 
- Desafios a la seguridad hidrica 
- Conflictos socio-ambientales que se relacionan con el agua 
- Los objetivos de Desarrollo del Milenio (ODM) y Agenda de Desarrollo Post-2015 

Se espera participacion de expertos de Argentina, Chile, Ecuador, Honduras, Nicaragua, Paraguay, Peru y Venezuela, entre otros paises.
