Environmental Peacebuilding Working Group Meeting

The next meeting of the Environmental Peacebuilding Working Group will be held on May 20, 2019, from 3:00 to 5:00pm ET. The meeting will be held at the Conservation International headquarters at 2011 Crystal Drive, Suite 600, Arlington, VA 22202. The CI offices are an easy walk from the Crystal City Metro station on the blue line, shown here in Google Maps.

The meeting will feature a discussion with Leo Bottrill. Leo has over 15 years of experience designing and implementing environmental programs in Southeast Asia, the Congo Basin, and Latin America. He currently runs MapHubs (maphubs.com), a startup that uses maps and satellites to monitor deforestation. Leo also founded Moabi DRC Initiative (rdc.moabi.org) in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC). Moabi works through local partnerships to build shared goal, incentives, and tools towards low emissions development. It deploys open source mapping technology to independently monitor REDD+ implementation the Mai Ndombe - DRC's first jurisdictional REDD+ project.
