The first phase of the National Nutrition Programme (NNP) was developed and launched in 2008 in an effort ‘to reduce the burden of malnutrition and its consequences in a harmonized and comprehensive approach, and through large scale national efforts.’  Since its inception, the NNP has contributed to an improved policy landscape for nutrition, the expansion of key preventative and curative nutrition programmes, and overall systems strengthening to the health system.  In an effort to build a larger evidence base for nutrition activities implemented through the NNP, and help inform the activities as they evolve, UNICEF, in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Health (FMoH), regularly supports evaluations and assessments of key NNP activities.

The objective of this evaluation is to assess changes in key CBN indicators and relationships between change in behaviour and / or participation in activities and anthropometric and IYCF outcomes over the project lifespan.
