To start as soon as possible, we are looking for a
 
Consultant for a short-term mission to support the establishment of an agricultural laboratory for the ICRA (Institut Centrafricain de Recherches Agronomiques – Central African Institute of Agronomic Research) in Bangui, Central African Republic
 
Your key duties:
• Consultation and scientific guidance in the reconstruction of an agricultural laboratory for seed certification
• Assessment and revision of a materials list (laboratory equipment)
• Assessment of the laboratory building, in order to design security precautions for staff
• Guidance and induction of technical staff in the use of laboratory equipment
• Creation of a quick guide to selected research methods in the areas of seed analysis and certification
• Production of a report in French plus a summary in German 
 
As a motivated candidate you will possess the following:
• Completed university studies in agricultural sciences with area of competence in soil science, plant diseases / plant protection, entomology
• Several years of professional experience in applied research, preferably in the field of seed analysis
• At least 5 years of professional laboratory experience – preferably in tropical countries
• Very good ability to express yourself in French and a good level of English
• Experience in a Central African context is an advantage
 
For the evaluation of tenders, we assess, based on EU criteria, the price-performance ratio with a maximum of 40 out of 100 points, required experience and motivation with 30 out of 100 points.
