Tearfund is looking for an experienced Project Manager to manage the Food Security sector of our post conflict rehabilitation projects in the Central African Republic. Tearfund is implementing a number of donor funded projects in the WASH and Food Security sectors. The Food Security Project Manager is responsible for the successful implementation of seed and tool distribution, seed protection and follow on training for communities on improved agricultural practices. The post holder is also responsible for ensuring strong linkages and coherence with the Public Health Promotion activities to ensure that projects lead to improved beneficiary health.
The successful candidate will be a qualified Agricultural or Food Security specialist with significant relevant humanitarian experience in the implementation of Food Security projects. Proven management and leadership skills, coupled with experience in project and financial management are essential. Responsibilities also include regular coordination within the UN Cluster and with other NGOs and Govt departments, and in collaboration with the Area Coordinator, the writing of donor proposals and reports. Excellent written and spoken English and French is required.
The candidate must be able to work in insecure environments, with remote supervision, to tight time frames.
