The University of York is setting up a Centre for Global Development (YCGD), led by the Department of Politics, supported by the Departments of Environment and History. We now wish to appoint Post-Doctoral Research Associates who will conduct individual and collaborative research, with duties to include conducting original and collaborative research in areas of key strategic importance for the Centre (including but not limited to governance, health, livelihoods and development alternatives), lead on and contribute to research papers, support grant bids and support the interdisciplinary culture of the new Centre. 

You will have a completed PhD or one submitted and awaiting examination in Politics, International Development or a cognate field, along with the ability to work in an interdisciplinary setting and an interest in stakeholder engagement. You will have experience of carrying out both independent and collaborative research, writing up research work for publication and an interest in stakeholder engagement. 

The post is available for 22 months in the first instance from 1 March or as soon as possible thereafter. The appointment will be made at Grade 6, with salary in the range of £31,604 - £38,832 per year.
