Post-production is underway for our Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) on Environmental Security and Sustaining Peace. Since filming all but three of the lectures this past August in New York City, we have moved into the reviewing and editing phase.  The team is now reviewing and editing the Rough Cuts and Fine Cuts on a daily basis. We have also begun promoting the MOOC with those who may be interested in the course. For example, Carl Bruch (Environmental Law Institute) shared the MOOC at the Environmental Emergencies Forum in Nairobi, Kenya (September 26-28), which had participants from over 50 countries.

The MOOC is being created by a partnership including UN Environment, the Environmental law Institute, the Earth Institute at Columbia University, UC-Irvine, and Duke University’s Nicolas School for the Environment. It examines natural resources and conflict causes, natural resources and the environment during armed conflict, and post-conflict environmental peacebuilding. It will be launched in early 2018.
