Myanmar: Villagers Renew Opposition to Yeywa Hydropower Plan

Residents of Talong village in Shan State oppose the construction of the Yehwa dam and hydropower project and reject the appeal of the government to move out of their present homes, which could be flooded once the dam is completed. Sai Kham Aung, a parliament member from Shan State, said the government has given notice to the villagers to move out of the area but they resisted.
