DRC: DRC Classifies Cobalt, Coltan as 'Strategic' Minerals

Cobalt and coltan, used in electric vehicle and renewable energy technology have been classified as strategic minerals in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Congolese Prime Minister Bruno Tshibala and Minister of Mines, Martin Kabwelulu signed a decree to this effect late November.
