Myanmar: Pyin Oo Lwin Residents Permitted to Transfer Land Ownership

Villagers in Pyin Oo Lwin township, Mandalay Region, are benefiting from cuts in red tape that allow them to transfer ownership of land, or to change the use to which the land is put. The new system came into force on July 28, said regional hluttaw MP U Aung Min (NLD). More than 80 land leasing documents and 40 change-of-use permissions for other usages of land have already been granted by township authorities, the land department and the hluttaw as part of their first 100-days project, he said.
