Myanmar: Gems and Food Products Added to National Export Strategy

The Ministry of Commerce has added gems and value-added food products to its National Export Strategy in the hope of creating thousands of new jobs. U Aung Soe, director at the ministry’s Trade Promotion Department, said yesterday the ministry would meet with gems entrepreneurs and food manufacturers to find out how the government can support their industries, before finalising the new strategy.
