Overview of Position
Under the overall supervision of Program Officer (Climate Conflict) & direct supervision of the Senior Program Assistant, the environmental peacebuilding program under the Community Stabilization Unit (CSU) seeks to recruit a Programme Clerk (Environmental Peacebuilding) who will be responsible & accountable for the implementation & management for the environmental peacebuilding programs within its clients Somalia office & will be based in Mogadishu.
Role Objectives
In particular s / he will:
- Provide general / clerical assistance in the implementation of program activities relating to the environmental peacebuilding portfolio.
- Retrieve, compile, summarize & present information/data on specific program topics.
- Assist in monitoring budget & updating budget related information.
- Support administrative coordination for project implementation, involving liaison with diverse organizational units or external parties to initiate requests, obtain necessary clearances, process & follow up on administrative actions.
- Draft status reports, correspondence, briefing notes, graphics, statistical tables, presentations & other forms of documentation.
- Support the organization of meetings, workshops & training sessions.
- Respond to general information requests & inquiries; set up & maintain files / records.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Project Reporting
This role will work under the overall supervision of Program Officer (Climate Conflict) & direct supervision of the Senior Program Assistant.
Key Competencies
- School diploma with three years of relevant experience or bachelor's degree in political or social sciences, international relations, development studies, migration studies, human rights, law or related fields from an accredited academic institution with one years of relevant professional experience.
- Experience in liaising with governmental authorities, national / international institutions, United Nations (UN) agencies & non governmental organizations.
- Experience in working with migrants, refugees, Internally Displaced Persons (IDP's), victims of trafficking & other vulnerable groups.
- Prior work experience with international humanitarian organizations, non government or government institutions / organization in a multicultural setting is an advantage.
- In depth knowledge of the broad range of migration related subject areas dealt with by the organization.
- Knowledge of UN & bilateral donor programming.

- Knowledge of community based & community engagement activities, stabilization & environmental peacebuilding concepts.
- For all applicants, fluency in Fluency in English & Somalia (oral & written).
- Working knowledge of Arabic is advantage.

Qualifications
Diploma in in a relevant discipline with three years of relevant experience or bachelor's degree in political or social sciences, international relations, development studies, migration studies, human rights, law or related fields from an accredited academic institution with one years of relevant professional experience ( essential).
Sector experience: Minimum of 1 year/s of demonstrable relevant experience working with migrants, refugees, IDP's, victims of trafficking & other vulnerable groups experience ( essential).
Geographical Experience: Minimum of 1 year/s of experience in Africa ( essential).
Languages: Fluent in English ( essential). Fluent in Somali ( essential). Working level in Arabic ( desirable).
