Emergency Response Team Global Roster

Natural disasters affect 200 million people annually—predominately in poor communities. Americares responds quickly to disasters and works closely with local partners to save lives and re-establish health care services. Americares delivers critical medicines and supplies, provide mental health services, provide surge support to hospitals and clinics, rehabilitate health facilities and support disaster preparedness and risk reduction. Its response—often within 72 hours—is informed by Americares more than 30-year experience helping those affected by crisis.

Americares maintains a Global Roster, which is comprised of experienced personnel available for short-term emergency employment. Global Roster members are generally deployed after an initial rapid assessment is conducted by Americares core staff, but on occasion Americares may ask Global Roster members to deploy immediately.

Selected candidates will be required to complete online training on Americares response principles and processes, and a series of short online trainings on general safety and security and other topics or will be required to demonstrate they have completed same or similar trainings. Periodic trainings will be offered to all candidates on relevant topics.

After requirements are met, candidates are able to receive and respond to mission assignments from Americares. Deployments typically last 2 weeks to 6 months. Enrollment on the roster is not a guarantee of deployment. Candidates are not compensated for time spent on trainings or other Global Roster requirements. Competitive deployment compensation will be offered based on the candidate’s skills and experience.
