The Position

The Programme Assistant will perform specialized and/or standardized policy and programme-related processes and activities to support the effective and timely data analysis and reporting of the WFP Ukraine In-Kind food assistance operation.

The position is only open to Ukrainian nationals or residents of Ukraine, with a legal work permit.

It has caused one of the fastest forced population movements since the Second World War. Close to 8 million Ukrainians are living as refugees across Europe, and another 5.3 million are internally displaced. Many are destitute, having lost their homes and livelihoods. As food production and supply lines are disrupted by fighting, many families in the east and south do not have reliable access to nutritious food.

WFP uses a flexible mix of food and cash assistance to support vulnerable Ukrainians wherever they are. This includes working with local partners to distribute food rations in areas near the frontline and providing cash transfers wherever people have access to banks and markets to buy food. Since March 2022, WFP has distributed food and cash assistance equivalent to 1.9 billion meals to families displaced and affected by the war, partnering directly with local responders.

Make a Difference

  •  Perform specialized and/or standardized processes and activities within the specific technical area of work supporting alignment with wider programme policies and guidelines.
  •  Collect, store, contribute to analyzing, enhancing, and disseminating on a regular basis food dispatches and distribution data for all in-kind activities, including General Food Distribution, Rapid Response, Institutional, and Supplementary activities.
  •  Interact with the implementation of internal corporate systems such as Partner Connect and COMET, as well as introduce new methods/systems of data analysis and reporting.
  •  Update internal operational databases and trackers in collaboration with Cooperating Partners and other key WFP Country Office and Sub-Office business units.
  •  Analyze, structure, and regulate the reporting of key in-kind operation figures in collaboration with Cooperating Partners and other internal/external stakeholders.
  •  Provide regular updates to key internal and external products, reports, and stakeholders.
  •  Establishing key reporting SOPs and tools for effective data collection, storage, analysis, and reporting.
  •  Perform high-experienced interaction with data analysis tools such as Microsoft Excel/Tableau/Power BI/DOTS/SQL and/or others while performing duties.
  •  Perform any other duties as required.

Qualifications

Education: Completion of secondary school education. A post-secondary certificate in the related functional area.

Experience: At least five (5) years of relevant work experience. A university degree may compensate for part of work experience.

Knowledge & Skills:

  •  Proficient interaction with Microsoft Excel.
  •  Basic data analysis and visualization skills in Tableau / Power BI / DOTS.

Languages: Oral and written working knowledge of English and Ukrainian languages.
