About the job :
DRC Libya – Tripolitania Area – Programme team is excited to recruit a Hygiene Promotion (WASH) Officer to support in implementation of Hygiene Promotion (HP) activities including the delivery of technical WASH gap assessments, hygiene promotion awareness raising campaign design, delivery, monitoring and adaption, information dissemination activities as well as WASH-Non-Food Items (NFIs) distribution in sites in line with DRC policy.
Your main duties and responsibilities will be:
- organizing and carrying out WASH NFIs distribution integrated with Awareness Sessions carried out face-to-face activities within a community and for emergency response needs.
- Lead implementation of (HP) activities within conflict-affected communities for vulnerable populations including migrant and refugees, Libyan Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) and returnee communities.
- Responsible for the design, delivery, monitoring, adaption and accountability of hygiene promotion campaigns.
- Conduct site assessment of targeted collective/informal/ and household level to support other sector interventions and contribute to assessment tool design, in coordination with other sectors.
- Ensure quality monitoring and reporting.
- Represent DRC in the WASH sector and to communities in an accountable manner.
- Uphold DRC and technical standards including ensuring diversity and inclusion, and safeguarding principles are considered throughout all activities and engagement.
About you:
To be successful in this role, we expect you to:
- expertise in hygiene promotion and campaign design
- good understanding of WASH items and distribution activities
- developing information material, distribution leaflets, radio messaging in an inclusive and engaging manner for a varied audience,
- conducting awareness sessions for affected communities.6) Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- understanding of humanitarian principles
Required
- University degree in related subject
- At least 2 years of experience in project implementation including an experience with INGO/or NGO performing HP activities and community focused awareness activities
- Previous experience in conducting assessments and preparing BoQs preferred
- Result oriented, and problem-solving skills;
- Good Reporting skills, and fluency in Arabic and English are mandatory.

We offer:
- Contract length: 6 Months contract with possibility of extension based on performance and fund availablity.
- Designation of Duty Station: Tripoli and urben areas
- Start date: it is likely to start on 22. May. 2022
