We are very pleased to announce this Call for Speakers. The Forest Interest Group (FIG) has been awarded to organise a side event at the XV World Forest Congress. The event's title is: Healthy Forests and Sustainable Livelihoods: Case studies from the Environmental Peacebuilding Association. Date and time are subject to confirmation.

We have now been asked to nominate speakers. Therefore, we are now looking for candidates who are interested in taking advantage of this opportunity. We ask all interested candidates to send us a short proposal (title, abstract of 500 words) by 16 January 2022 at the latest. Proposals should be clearly related to the theme of the event and ideally also related to Environmental Peacebuilding. We kindly ask that proposals be submitted in English.

We, members of the FIG, will select the submitted proposals and put together a programme. Nominees are then asked to give a 10-minutes presentation and be available for a panel discussion at the WFC.

Information about Covid-19 and participation in the WFC:

The WFC is planned as a face-to-face event. However, we don't know yet, whether the event will be hold offline, hybrid or online. For the moment, all those who submit a proposal must ensure that in principle, they could travel to Korea at the beginning of May. The WFC has published the registration procedure and fees on the website (https://wfc2021korea.org/index.html). In addition, WFC has informed us that they will provide information about sponsorships on the WFC website in mid-December. We kindly ask interested parties to take care of the registration / sponsorship on their own.

If you have questions, please don't hesitate to ask.
