The Environmental Peacebuilding Association (EnPAx) is delighted to announce that the Second International Conference on Environmental Peacebuilding will be held in Geneva, Switzerland, in February 2022, convened in partnership with the Centre on Conflict, Development and Peacebuilding (CCDP), Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies; the Geneva Peacebuilding Platform; the Geneva Water Hub, University of Geneva; and the United Nations Environment Programme.

The process leading to the Second Conference—“The Road to Geneva”—will be consultative, engaging practitioners, researchers, decisionmakers, and students from around the globe.

The Road to Geneva will include a number of regional and national events engaging people on environmental peacebuilding issues relevant to those communities. These events will enable people to share experiences locally and highlight approaches and concerns that could feed into the global conference. The Road to Geneva will also reach out to diverse constituencies through engagement at related events, such as Geneva Peace Week, the World Conservation Congress, and the World Water Forum.

In parallel with the regional and national events, the Association is supporting an ambitious series of thematic initiatives to showcase at the Second Conference and bring forward on the 50th anniversary of the UN Conference on the Human Environment (Stockholm + 50).
