Landell Mills has recently been shortlisted for the Asian Development Bank project ‘Agricultural Value Chain Infrastructure Improvement’ Project in Cambodia and is looking to source a Climate Change and Disaster Risk Management Specialist.

Project Description

The Agricultural Value Chain Infrastructure Improvement Project will focus on six contiguous target provinces making a link from the northwest down to the center and to the east of the country. During the project preparation, at least six non-rice crop and livestock products will be selected from these provinces for potential value addition and commercialization. The project will look to address the sector’s poor performance characterized by low productivity, low value addition, and low resource efficiency through strengthening value chains of the selected agricultural products.

Person Specification

 

Qualifications and Skills

  • A degree in Environmental Science or Natural Resource Management (or related subject);
  • Training in Climate Change Impacts.

Professional Experience

  • At least 10 years of experience in the area of climate change adaption and disaster risk reduction;
  • Relevant project experience with at least 4 projects on climate change adaption and disaster risk reduction financed by IDIs including IFIs;
  • Specific work experience in preparing a climate and disaster risk assessment, in at least 2 ADB TRTAs.

Responsibilities

  • undertake the climate risk and vulnerability assessments;
  • work with other consultants (i.e., AVC specialists, food industry specialists, rural road engineers) to incorporate climate proofing, and where possible, disaster risk reduction measures in the design of the selected infrastructure subprojects;
  • identify options for improving design standards for climate change, and where possible, disaster risk reduction, in irrigation and farm-to-market roads to prepare guidelines for design of infrastructure subprojects under the project;
  • conduct training on climate change and disaster risk management;
  • prepare relevant TORs for the project as required;
  • prepare a climate change and disaster risk assessment.
