Adapt Peacebuilding is a social enterprise that works at the cutting edge of peacebuilding, with country programs in Myanmar and Colombia and a growing international presence. Adapt Peacebuilding engages in peacebuilding programming in civil war contexts and research and consultancy services that advance knowledge of peacebuilding effectiveness and serve local and international clients. It specialises in systems and complexity approaches to peacebuilding.

Adapt Peacebuilding is in need of people who can help grow our peacebuilding efforts to benefit more people. It is currently recruiting for a peacebuilding adviser that would:

  • act as a research assistant to the director
  • support the editing and promotion of podcasts
  • develop funding proposals and liaise with donors
  • conduct field-based research and client support
  • develop and support presentations in New York and elsewhere.

You should have:

  • a university degree in a related discipline, preferably at Masters level
  • some experience in peacebuilding and/or complexity theory/systems thinking
  • demonstrated research and writing ability (samples welcomed)
  • demonstrated ability to deliver remotely on assignments with minimal supervision
  • demonstrated ability to use and learn new software tools
  • multiple languages are an advantage

This is a remote-based, part time position with potential travel to the field as required. This position suits a student that is looking to expand their knowledge and skills with a young, cutting edge peacebuilding organisation.

This is a part-time position. A modest stipend will be offered, commensurate with experience, with scope to grow the role and compensation.
