New Privacy Policy

Jun 3, 2018

When people sign up for the Environmental Peacebuilding Community of Practice, they join other professionals and researchers who are interested in environment, conflict, and peace. We strive to protect your privacy within our Community of Practice. We only collect information that helps us better serve you, and we are committed to keeping your data safe.

With the European Union (EU)’s new General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) entering into effect, we wanted to take this opportunity to remind you about how we acquire, display, and use your personal data:

  1. When you join the Environmental Peacebuilding Community of Practice, we collect only your email address. The other information you provide (including your name, institution, and country) are not recorded in our database.
  2. Your email address is never displayed or otherwise made public.
  3. Only Environmental Peacebuilding Community of Practice administrators can access your email address and will do so only if they need to contact you.
  4. The Environmental Peacebuilding Community of Practice never shares your data with third parties. This includes emails.
  5. We send out the Environmental Peacebuilding Update every two weeks to all members of the Environmental Peacebuilding Community of Practice. The Update is sent directly through the Google Group platform without seeing, sharing, or displaying your email address. Occasionally, we send out other messages to all members, when it refers to special events or announcements, such as this one. (The last such message was months ago.) With our current technology (namely, the Google Group platform), we are unable to isolate some members from messages to all members.
  6. You can unsubscribe at any time for any reason. If you want to unsubscribe, please click on the link at the bottom of the Google Group to unsubscribe.
  7. If you have any questions regarding your personal data, please do not hesitate to contact us at contact@environmentalpeacebuilding.org.
  8. By continuing to be a member of the Environmental Peacebuilding Community of Practice on or after 25th May, you acknowledge our Terms of Use and Privacy Policy, and agree to the updated terms.

These rules cover all members of the Environmental Peacebuilding Community of Practice.  We urge you to stay up-to-date with our Terms of Use and Privacy Policy.   If you have any questions or need any support, please contact us at: contact@environmentalpeacebuilding.org.

Thank you for your continued engagement in the Environmental Peacebuilding Community of Practice.
