DRC: Blockchain-based Traceability Firm by an African NBA Legend to Help Track Ethical Cobalt Mining Projects in The Congo

Bluetech, an investment firm owned by NBA legend, Dikembe Mutombo, says it has invested about $1 billion in ethical cobalt mining projects, a part of which will be used to help ensure traceability for ethical cobalt mining projects in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). With over 68% of all the world’s cobalt supply coming from the DRC, the investment aims to help manage funds across various mining projects (public and private) to support conflict-free extraction of minerals in the country.
